CURRENT FAVES: Tech, Haircare, & Skincare 6.7.2016

Morning!  Today I am back with another “Current Faves” post.  It seems these are working out to be a monthly thing after all (I just jinxed myself).  I’ve been really into blogging lately and just had the urge to write this post.  I find blogging quite relaxing and much less stressful than making videos since I can do it in my PJ’s and with my hair in a bun and not worry about my kitty running through and knocking everything down.

Anyways, lately I’ve tried a lot of new products since I bought quite a lot on my vacation to Canada (which you can read about here) so I have a lot of favorites ranging from the tech I use to purple shampoos to new skincare so let’s get started!

A Weekend in Montréal: Day Three

We ended up revising our schedule a lot this day since we were pretty much out of steam at this point.  We opted for a late check out (we paid extra for this) and took our time to relax, pack, enjoy lunch, visit a few more places and go to our engagement shoot in the evening.

Even though we had a chill day, it was still an eventful one so read on to see what we did. Continue reading

A Weekend in Montréal: Trip Overview & Haul

Hellllllo Peeps!  When I first started this blog, I intended it to be an all encompassing blog.  I wanted to write about everything that I enjoy, from my relationship, to my cat, to beauty, to food and travel.  But as it turned out, this blog became pretty much all about beauty.

So with that said, I am so happy to say that today I will be starting a series of posts about my weekend in Montéal, QC, Canada.  I can honestly say that this one of the best vacations I’ve ever been on (and I have traveled…a lot).  So click on to get the general idea of the trip and to see what I bought, both beauty & non-beauty. REVIEW: Battle of the Cleansing Waters // Nature Republic, Garnier, & Bioderma

Happy FriYAY!  Today I am staying home from work due to extreme allergies and so I decided to write up one of my classic “battles of the” posts.  So with a kitty in my lap and a pellegrino by my side, let’s get into it!

Cleansing waters are nothing new, but they’ve definitely gained popularity in the past year or so and I’ve noticed tons of new ones popping up.  These are meant to be an all in one makeup remover/cleanser that leaves your skin moisturized.  I am a cleansing freak so I don’t use these as my sole cleanser.  In a pinch, I’ll use them in place of my oil cleanser, but then I’ll still use my second cleanser after.  What I really like using them for is as my cleanser in the morning when I don’t have any makeup to remove and just want to refresh my face and move onto my toner.

Anyways, enough rambling, today I’ll be comparing three different cleansing waters/micellar waters: Nature Repblic Jeju Sparkling Cleansing Water, Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water, & Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution. Continue reading

LOVE: Our Engagement Photos

It’s another late night that I just can’t fall asleep.  While tossing and turning, I realized it is our one year anniversary today of being engaged.  Yup, exactly one year ago, Mike popped the question and I said yes.  So much has changed since then (and all for the better) and so many more amazing and exciting things are coming, but I thought today would be a perfect day to share some of my favorite shots from our engagement photoshoot.

Vy Mike-WEB-0159.jpgOur amazing photographer actually just sent our gallery to us yesterday, so it was perfect timing.  To see more of our favorite shots and learn more about our photographer, read on (: Continue reading

REVIEW: CoverGirl Katy Kat Matte Lipsticks

Hi, I’m Vy and I am a crazy cat lady and a makeup addict.  Yup, that’s pretty much what my intro would be like if I was ever set to rehab, so put the two things together and you’ve got me hooked.DSC07794

I walked into Walgreens over the weekend to return a few things and next thing you know, I’m walking out with three lipsticks.  So are these actually any good?  Or did the marketing team just get me real good?  Read on to find out. Continue reading

LOVE: Our First Year of Adventures

Today is Mike and I’s one year anniversary so I thought it would be appropriate to take this time to reflect on our adventure and story so far.

Background:  Mike and I met a little over a year ago while working together and during a massive transitional period in my life.  I had just ended a nearly four year relationship and was about to go into my senior year of college.  I really wasn’t looking to date anyone, but when it’s the one you just can’t say no.  So long story short, we started dating and both just knew and so 29 days later, he proposed and I said yes.

So here is the highlight reel of our first year together.  So much has happened that can’t be captured in a blog post, but I hope you all enjoy traveling through this past year with me anyways. Continue reading

CURRENT FAVES: Makeup, Skincare, & Haircare 5.3.2016

Hello all!  It’s been a while, hasn’t it?  Life has been crazy hectic with work, travel, and wedding planning, but in the back of my mind almost every morning when I got ready was the thought of, “omg I really like this, I need to tell someone.”  So here I am, writing a favorites post.

I didn’t want to name it “April Favorites” or “Spring Favorites” because I’m not sure how often these posts will pop up.  Sometimes I like the same products for months and months and other times I find new ones after a few weeks so I thought current faves would be more appropriate.

After writing this blog post, I realized it was way too long so I’ve decided to split it into two parts.  So to find out what makeup, skincare, and haircare I’ve been loving, read on below and to find out what I’ve been loving in terms of fashion, food, and life, click here (will add link when post is up).
